A breast lift is one of the most common aesthetic procedures for women. Sometimes breast lifts are combined with breast augmentation surgery.
The reasons for doing a breast lift will vary, but the most common is that the woman is experiencing her breasts as being saggy and disproportionate to the rest of her body.
After pregnancy and breastfeeding the breasts are often reduced in size, and lose their shape. A hanging and sagging bust can also be hereditary or arise after more or less significant weight loss.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia, which means you are asleep and pain-free during the entire procedure. If it’s a small lift-procedure, you can go home later that day. However, if it’s a bigger lift or if the breast lift is combined with a breast augmentation you will have to stay for one night after surgery.
The first few days you will feel a tightness and “a pull” in the wounds, but you will not hurt much more than can be handled by mild painkillers. We provide all the medication you need.
Normally you visit the clinic after a week to check on the wounds and after three weeks for removal of stitches.
The surgical technique and hence the location of the scars varies and depends on how much the nipple must be moved up and on the amount of skin that needs to be removed. At the so-called crescent lift some skin is removed above the nipple and areola which leaves crescent-shaped scar in the upper, outer edge of the areola. Sometimes you need to remove more skin around the areola and the scar will then move to the outer edge of the entire areola. If your breasts are saggy and if the nipples are hanging down a lot, even more skin needs to be removed. In these cases, you get a scar around the areola, a vertical scar straight from the areola down to the mammary fold and a short horizontal scar along the mammary fold. The scar is hereby shaped like an anchor, and is also called “anchor scar”.
The scars usually heal very nicely and become small thin, white lines over time.

Prices breast lift
Some patients wonder why we don't have a fixed price list. We have chosen not to have one as each patient is unique with unique conditions for an operation. Since conditions vary from patient to patient, no surgery is exactly the same, although there are more standardized procedures such as breast augmentation.
The price-range for some surgeries is so great that we feel that we need to meet our patients in order to provide a fair and accurate price. In addition, it is often only at the time of consultation that we together with you will find out which procedure or procedures are suitable for achieving a beautiful, final result. For example, it may be advisable to combine a tummy tuck with liposuction of the abdomen or waist. Our goal is perfection and that you should be completely satisfied with the result after surgery. If several procedures are performed at the same time, the pricing will be different than if the procedures are performed each in itself.
It's important to remember that in addition to the actual cost of surgery, the proce also includes anaesthetic, all medication, all revisits (often three) and often at least one overnight stay including meals, after surgery. Here you can read more about what is included when booking an operation at the Victoriakliniken.
You are welcome to contact us to ask about approximate prices. Your questions will of course be answered as best as possible. We hope you are lenient about us not following a fixed price list as each patient is unique with unique conditions, which is why individual pricing is the most accurate.
Virtually all prices are shown including VAT, as all procedures and treatments except those made for medical reasons have VAT added in Sweden since the turn of 2014/2015. Whether your procedure is medically motivated or not, is also something that needs to be concluded at a personal meeting. In cases where the price is quoted excluding VAT, this is because these procedures are always performed on a medical basis.
