Gynecomastia surgery- reduction of the male breast
An increase in breast volume in the form of fat and glandular tissue in men, gynecomastia, affects about 30% of all men at some point in life.
A breast reduction surgery aims to reduce the enlarged, female-like breasts. During the procedure, the excess glandular tissue is surgically removed through an incision at the edge of the nipple. The procedure is often combined with liposuction.
The operation is performed under general anesthetic which means you are asleep and pain-free during the entire procedure. After surgery, you will stay for one night.
You can expect temporary discoloration, swelling and some pain after the surgery. Sometimes you will need a mild analgesic medication that you get from the clinic. Dressings and stitches are removed after one to two weeks. You can start working after 3-7 days and after 3-6 months you can see the final result, which is permanent.
