About the Treatment
Botox is a prescription muscle-relaxing medication that is injected into or onto the muscle or skin, depending on the treatment area. Botox blocks the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter and signal substance, from the nerve to the muscle. After treatment, the injected muscle will have limited and reduced ability to contract.
We also use Botox to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating), migraines, tension headaches, and bruxism—commonly known as teeth grinding.
Wrinkles
Botox is an excellent non-surgical option for wrinkles around the forehead, crow’s feet, and the so-called “frown lines” between the eyebrows. The treatment takes about 5–15 minutes and should not be painful. Botox should not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Before Treatment
Together with your practitioner, you will discuss during a consultation what needs to be addressed. Behind each treatment are medically responsible doctors. Being treated by our specialized doctors and nurses yields a natural result. You can feel secure knowing that all practitioners at Victoriakliniken are certified for this specific type of treatment, and that we have many years of education and thousands of hours of experience and expertise behind us. Dr. Randquist was the main responsible person for all Botox training in Scandinavia from 2000 to 2006.
Technique
At the time of treatment, small, careful injections are made in the skin according to a measured plan established during the consultation. An injection gradually softens lines and wrinkles, making them less visible as the effect takes place, which usually takes three days to three weeks, depending on which muscles are treated. The substance temporarily blocks the nerve signal that causes a muscle to contract. To completely smooth out a wrinkle, fillers may also need to be used.
You should avoid exercise, alcohol, and makeup for 24 hours after the treatment. The result will typically last for 3 to 6 months. Repeated treatments lead to a longer-lasting result. The result is not permanent. After treatment

Complications
The most common side effects are mild discomfort and small bruises around the injection sites. Side effects in the form of temporarily drooping upper eyelids or unevenness in facial expressions can occur. However, this is very rare if standardized protocols are followed.

Price
We have chosen not to have a fixed price list as each patient is unique with unique conditions. In addition, it is often only during the consultation that we, together with you, come up with which procedure or procedures are appropriate to achieve a beautiful end result. In addition to the cost of the surgery itself, we include anesthesia, medication, return visits, girdle and bra and in most cases at least one overnight stay after the surgery.
In general, all prices are shown inclusive of VAT, as all procedures and treatments except those performed for medical reasons have been subject to VAT since the beginning of 2014.
